Leritz Contracting is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the street resurfacing project on your subdivision street. Here is the scope of work and projected time frame so you can plan accordingly.

Our work includes roto-milling to a depth of 2”, including the asphalt curb of the entire subdivision, pavement cleaning and tacking, placing a new asphalt surface over the existing roadway, installing new asphalt curbs, and backfilling of the curbs.

The major scope of work (including roto-milling and paving) will be performed over a six-day period, tentatively beginning on Thursday, June 27th, weather permitting. Days 1 and 2 will include the roto-milling of asphalt and curbs. Large construction equipment and trucks will be on the street, but the road will remain open to local traffic. Please expect some delays. On the days to follow, we will be installing the asphalt surface, beginning at about 7:00 AM and finishing about 5:00 PM, and sections of the road will be closed to traffic on those days, starting from the back and working our way to the front. Please prepare for some delays if you leave your house after 7:00 AM on these days. You will be free to use the streets after about 5:00 PM or whenever we finish our work. After the paving is complete, we will begin to install the new asphalt curbs and backfill. This will also come with large construction equipment and trucks being on the road, but the road will remain open to local traffic.

Here is our planned phasing map:

Milling:

  • Thursday, June 27th – Friday 28th

Paving:

  • Phase 1 (Red): Wednesday 7/10
  • Phase 2 (Blue): Thursday 7/11
  • Phase 3 (Green): Friday 7/12
  • Phase 4 (Yellow): Monday, 7/15

Curbing and backfill to follow.

We will also place signs with a QR code at the neighborhood entrance, which you can scan to stay updated if we are delayed due to weather.

Please be advised that we will apply a tack coat to the old surface to bond the new layer of asphalt. This is a very sticky black substance that will stain your automobiles and driveways, particularly concrete driveways. Please do not drive through the tack coat and onto your driveways.

To help you plan your days, here is a list of reminders:

• Postpone any home maintenance, including lawn maintenance. There will be no room for pickup trucks and trailers to maneuver.
• Postpone delivery of appliances, furniture, etc. Same reason as above.
• DO NOT RUN LAWN SPRINKLERS on the days we are working. We cannot pave a wet street.
• Do not let pets run loose. Pets can burn their paws on the hot asphalt or get black goo on their paws.

We must have dry weather to perform this work. Rain or a threat of rain will cause us to postpone our work to the next weekday. Of course, if an emergency arises, we will stop our work and move out of the way for emergency vehicles.

Thank you for your confidence in our company

Best Regards,
Jonathan Haarmann
